Board of Trustees
Zoning Board of Appeals
The township’s annual “clean-up day” is scheduled for Saturday, June 11. It will take place at the Township Hall from 8am until 11am. There will be dumpsters for metal, tires (removed from rims, no tractor tires) and a packer truck for other refuge. Please check the upcoming newsletter or check at the hall to see a complete list of what is accepted. Please help keep our township clean.
The Cemetery Committee reminds everyone to please remove winter or old decorations from grave sites before the end of the month as we want the cemetery looking good for Memorial Day. Remember, there is no perpetual care so it is up to families/friends to care for the graves. There is a barrel provided for old plastic, wood and wire as well as a spot for leaves and grass, so please use the appropriate spot. Anyone who has suggestions for the committee is welcome to bring them to the hall for the next meeting.
There will be two elections this year. The Primary election is August 2 and the General election will be held November 8. Polls are open 7am through 8pm. There will be more information in this space in the upcoming months.
We have received the costs for this year’s dust control which will be $102 for 300 feet of roadway. As in the past there will be three treatments.
There is some information on the Gypsy Moth (Now renamed the Spongy Moth) available at the Township Hall, some of which will be shared in our upcoming newsletter. Wilber Township Board meetings are open to the public so residents with questions or wishing to discuss options are invited to attend one of these meeting.
If you are concerned about your trees, there are also some things property owners can do themselves to help combat them. Click on the Link below from MSU to learn more. https://www.canr.msu.edu/resources/dealing-with-spongy-moth-around-your-home-or-property.
We welcome your comments and ideas as to what type of information you would like to see posted within its contents.
