Consumers is working on restoring power 24/7. Consumers protocol in these situations are as follows:
1. Respond to all downed power lines
2. Assess damage
3. Restore Power
Power will be restored in the following order:
1. Critical community functions (police, fire, hospital, etc.)
2. Other community function (schools, etc.)
3. Largest power outage areas down to the smallest power outage areas.
4. Areas in which they still have power, but there may be trees fallen on the wires.
Any further updates provided by Consumers to Wilber Township will communicated immediately.

Wilber Township – Zoning Amendment
The Wilber Township Planning Commission held a public hearing on March 12, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. to recommend adoption of an ordinance which amends the Zoning Ordinance to the Township Board. The full text of the new Zoning Ordinance and amendment is available at the Township Hall, online at https://www.wilbertwp.com/, or by calling 989-362-5410. The proposed amendment is as follows:
Amend Section 2.02 to add definitions for battery energy storage systems, data centers, non- and participating lots, solar energy, repowering, wildlife-friendly fencing, and wind energy. Amend Sections 4.05, 4.08 and 4.09 to change Solar Energy Facilities (Utility-Scale) from a permitted use to a special use in the Industrial District, to add Solar Energy Facilities (Utility-Scale) to the Agricultural Residential District, to add Battery Energy Storage Systems as a special use in the Industrial District, and to add Data Centers as a special use in the Industrial District. Amend Section 7.17 to add new regulations for Accessory Solar Panels. Amend Section 7.18 (Solar Energy Facilities Utility-Scale) and Section 7.19 (Wind Energy Facilities, Utility Scale) to add new regulations for both to include standards, application requirements, and documentation requirements. Add Section 7.26 to add new regulations for Accessory Wind Turbines. Add Section 7.27 to provide new regulations for Battery Energy Storage Systems to include standards, application requirements, and documentation requirements. Add Section 7.28 to provide new regulations for data centers. Amend Section 9.07 (Inspections) to add procedures for inspections for renewable energy projects.
