Wilber Township – Zoning Amendment
The Wilber Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on January 8, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. to recommend adoption of an ordinance which amends the Zoning Ordinance to the Township Board. The public hearing will be held at the Township Hall at 3120 Sherman Rd, East Tawas, MI 48730. The full text of the new Zoning Ordinance and amendment is available at the Township Hall, online at https://www.wilbertwp.com/, or by calling 989-362-5410. Written comments may be sent to the above address prior to the meeting. The public may appear at the public hearing in person or by counsel. The proposed amendment is as follows:
Amend 3.18 (Accessory Buildings) to allow detached accessory buildings to be located in the front yard of the RD and AG Districts with a required setback equal to the required setback of the principal building in those districts. Amend Section 3.09 to clarify farm buildings.
